A legendary race car to own
Sharing just under 50% of the same parts as the R8 GT3 LMS race car, the Audi R8 Coupe is bred through the lens of motorsport. The 532-hp or 602-hp V10 engine epitomizes the mid-engine drivetrain concept, providing ideal vehicle balance through its center of gravity and dynamic weight transfer characteristics. And now, a limited run of a rear-wheel drive option in the R8 V10 RWS is a weight-reducing and even more accessible way to drive the iconic Audi R8.
Born on the track – built for the road
The 2018 Audi R8 Coupe comes standard with Audi magnetic ride, which uses a synthetic blend of oils that contain tiny magnetic particles to create a magnetic field within the shock absorber. Several modes are offered to match your preference. Dynamic, Comfort and Auto settings are available via Audi drive select.
A bold new vision
Available on the R8 V10 and standard on V10 models, full LED headlights with Audi laser light technology help you see things clearer. When conditions permit, the Audi laser light modules activate, helping increase sight range. In addition, visual distinction is provided by a blue structure within the headlights and dynamic turn signals.
The unmistakable looks of the Audi R8 Coupe instantly convey its racing DNA, with a long flowing roofline, a cockpit positioned forward and the newly available Black optic package that elevates the motorsport details. The R8 V10 takes the bold lines to the next level. With an adaptive rear spoiler, Carbon Sigma inlays, carbon-fiber fixed spoiler and more, the V10 brings the style of the checkered flag to the avenue.
The lap — and mind — of luxury
This fully digital instrument display presents both performance and MMI® information on its crisp, 12.3-inch display. The driver can easily switch between three viewing modes: Infotainment, Classic and Sport, via the steering wheel or MMI® touch controls. For 2018, all Audi R8 models include the Audi smartphone interface which allows for compatible smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay™ or Google™ Android Auto™.
Standard MMI® touch with handwriting-recognition technology allows the driver to “write” their entry rather than selecting letters or numbers and more easily navigate maps by moving a finger across the touchpad.
